Spontaneity

“You find something when you’re not looking for it.”

Life has a way of screwing with you and it’s called fate. For some reason, when you really want something, the odds of the universe decide to say, “Screw you Gillian, just because you want this thing so ridiculously badly right now, I’m going to save it for when you least expect it.” Karma, Fate, whatever it is- it’s a cool concept at times, but some days I just want to be like alright invisible powers of the universe, I get the message but can you hand over my damn lost keys so I’m not late to work today? Why is it that while I was finally having an in depth conversation with man of my dreams, some random dude decides to sit down on the other side of me and not shut the hell up?! By distracting me from Dream Man, you fate spirits have conveniently allowed him to walk away without me knowing, and strategically develop a conversation with Rando Man involving an insanely engaging topic about how people discover their passions (mine obviously being dance). But wait, this random dude is actually pretty cool, maybe something more than just a smooth talker. And at this point I’m like, thank you fate gods, you gave me the keys I’ve been looking for, at the irony of a discussion with my deeply pursued Dream Man. So overtime, I let Fate Man in- which means a lot due to the struggle-filled, tormented past of boy problems I’ve experience in my short-lived life. And what do you malicious beings of probability do? You took him away, on real short notice might I add. How am I supposed to find my keys now?! And how do I convince myself to stop looking?

Thanks Fate,

-Gillian
